Investiture Ceremony The Principal: Those who are going to be put in authority over others, and accept the offer to prove worthy of the appointment as Prefect undertake duties that are not always easy to carry out. They must strictly obey the rules of the school if they are to see that others also do so. They must not be tempted to court popularity but must remember that if they do their duty well and with fairness they will win respect. To be respected is better than to be cheaply popular. They must remember that they are expected to set an example of the highest order in punctuality, politeness, integrity, courtesy and proficiency in academics, initiative and a sense of attachment to the values of the school. In being prepared to exercise their responsibilities, Prefects are given the highest opportunity that this school offers in preparing them for the outside world they will enter when the time comes for them to leave the school.
